The chief executive of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), Alberto Lázaro said here Friday that the corporation does not have excess funds, as union leaders have claimed.
Lazarus said the money left after covering all operating expenses and debt service of the AAA, if any, should be deposited in the Rate Stabilization Fund or used in the Capital Improvement Program.
"It's one thing to say that the Independent Authentic Union (UIA) saved him (the corporation) $ 58 million in collective bargaining the past four years and another thing to say that the agreement that they signed it costs the AAA $ 87 million," said Lazarus.
