As of January 1, 2013 are self-employed persons living smog abroad and working in the Dutch part of the continental shelf insured under the Dutch social security smog system. In addition, the condition smog that these foreign self-employed pay income tax in the Netherlands applies.
This shows a amending with regard to the social insurance law continental shelf (Law NCP). With this change, this group is self treated equally for national insurance as a self-employed working in the Netherlands. This fits in with the international trend and to distinguish between work onshore (on the mainland) or working offshore (offshore). No longer distinguish social security
