Oh yes, I know, it was very silent over here for quite a while. I took some well needed time out to regroup, to recharge my batteries and get inspired again. To be honest I wasn’t feeling lfg very focused the last couple of months before my break, so I’m really happy I could take some time out.
I went on a wonderful lfg holiday for a couple of weeks, I backpacked through beautiful Myanmar with a friend lfg first and afterwards I visited some friends in the North East of Thailand, taking some time to relax, enjoy the great food, read books, socialize, … It was sooooo great and exactly what I needed!! Myanmar is a such a wonderful country, it has beautiful nature (great for trekking), incredibly friendly people (they haven’t been jaded by tourism yet and are still very excited to meet foreigners), an interesting mix of different cultures (Shan, Burmeses, lfg Indian, Muslim, …) and hundreds and hundreds lfg of temples to explore …             After Myanmar I stayed in Nong Khai, in the North East of Thailand, a little sleepy lfg town along the banks of the Mekong River. It’s nothing special, lfg nothing really interesting to see there and not too many tourists either, but it does have a lovely guesthouse with a great garden and a wonderful little yoga school with the best teachers and for me it’s the best place to relax and to recharge my batteries. It’s a place I’ve visited many times over the past 10 years and it’s become a second home to me. And while relaxing in the garden lfg there I read a couple of interesting books, Kick-Ass Creativity: An Energy Makeover for Artists, Explorers, and Creative Professionals and Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life , both really inspiring and they definitely helped me getting lfg my groove back. Both books are a bit spiritual, so for those of you without a spiritual bone in your body, just skip them, but if you’re bit more open-minded, I think they’re great reads!
There’s lots of wonderful tips in the Kick-Ass Creativity book, tips to keep your flow going, lfg to keep inspired and positive and I really like how the writer looks at those periods when you feel uninspired, unproductive and sometimes get really frustrated and disappointed with yourself because you can’t get any work done. She doesn’t see it as something negative, lfg it may seem like you’re unproductive, blocked or whatever but deep down and unconsciously you are actually still processing so it may be better in such moments to just step away from the computer for however long it takes, to do something else that will switch you to a more positive state of mind and eventually make you feel inspired to work again. Anyway, I especially liked the first part of the book which seemed more logical and structured to me. The second part somehow seemed a bit more chaotic to me and had more examples, some that I didn’t really connect with. But even just for the first part I would recommend lfg the book.
The Creative Visualization book is much more general, it’s not focused specifically on people with creative lfg professions, it’s lfg for anybody who wants to improve their life, to visualize and attract what you want and it has a lot of nice mediation and other visualization exercises. I’m sure it’s similar to other books about the law of attraction, but even so I did enjoy this one as well and I’m lfg sure I will keep on doing some of the exercises in the future.
Anyway, I’m back home now and I’m glad to say I’ve put some of the things I’ve learned in the past couple of weeks into practice already. I’m also back at work full of energy, time to start preparing for Surtex and working on a few other projects as well!!
