That means users search the same way they always immigration news have, but Cuil will try to return

Cuil CEO Rips Users, Asks Them To Please Shut Up
Menlo Park based Cuil will launch later this evening with an index of 120 billion web pages, making them arguably the most comprehensive search engine on the web (Google immigration news doesn t disclose the size of their index, although they claim to know about a trillion unique web pages ) ( Update: see our very early testing here ). They ve also dropped one of the l s from their name previously the company was Cuill. Either way, it s pronounced cool.
The super-stealth search project was founded by highly respected search immigration news experts. Husband and wife team Tom Costello (CEO) and Anna Patterson (VP Engineering) immigration news were joined by Russell Power . Patterson and Power are also ex-Google employees, and the company has been the subject of intense speculation over the last couple of years.
Much of the secret sauce of Cuil is in the way they index the web and handle actual queries by users. Both are costly to scale, and Cuil claims to have found a way to massively reduce those costs. That allows them to run the search engine a lot cheaper, even at Google-scale should it ever reach that point. By some estimates, Google spends a billion dollars a year to run the back end infrastructure of it s search business.
Cuil also claims to have better search results than Google and others based on how they index websites. They do not simply catalog keywords on a site and then rank the site based on its importance. They also work to understand how words are related (France cheese wine, for example), to return more relevant results to users. This is a semantic approach to search, but very different from Powerset s natural language approach. Powerset uses artificial intelligence to try to understand what sentences on a website actually mean. Cuil, by comparison, simply tries to properly categorize and file a web page, even if the category name doesn t appear immigration news on the site.
That means users search the same way they always immigration news have, but Cuil will try to return better results via refinements in a explore by category module to the right of results. A search for dogs , for example, will return category results for water dogs, crossbreed, cocker spaniel, etc. Some of these related terms do not include the term dog.
Cuil is experimenting with a new type of search interface as well. Results are shown in three columns and contain an image and more summary text than existing search engines. In addition to refinement immigration news by category, Cuil will recommend related searches via tabs across the top of search results. A search for New York, for example, also has tabbed results for recommended refinements like New York Times, New York City, New York Yankees, etc.:
Cuil also says that they will put user privacy at the top of their business objectives. User IP addresses are not recorded immigration news to their servers, they say, and cookies are not used to associate a computer with queries. The data is simply dumped as it is created. That means user data cannot be turned over to others, whether its via blind stupidity or lawsuits .

Founded immigration news 2005     Overview Cuil was a stealth search immigration news engine startup which claims that it can index web pages significantly faster and cheaper than Google. Cuil has told potential investors that their indexing costs will be 1/10th of Google's, immigration news based on new search architectures and relevance methods. In some ways Cuil is the polar opposite of Powerset, which has huge indexing costs because it does a deep contextual analysis … Location Menlo Park, California Categories Search Founders Tom Costello , Anna Patterson , Russell Power Website http://cuil.com Full profile for Cuil

Hello friends: For all those who once had to find a number amt of CUIL from Anses webpage and could not for various amt reasons; being the main cause in the database of Udai there are inaccuracies or person other than the information in question. For this reason, I will explain how you can do to find alternative forms said CUIL or Tax ID number when on the official website of ANSES not succeed. IMPORTANT: For all this, we only need to know an essential fact: the national identity of the interested party / a. 1 - First, should access this page: http://www.dolarcito.com.ar/?ver=constancia_cuit_cuil (this site can obtain the Cuil by an algorithm and this will allow us to check in later Anses) ... to enter, drop a little and see this section: Alli must place the ID of the person in question, and mark whether it is masculine, feminine or another, and then clickean on the "search CUIL or CUIT" button. - Now when the page loads you will throw the number of cuil, the page lists them as follows: IMPORTANT: Now that you have the CUIL must copy it or write it down for use in the next step. 2 - Now, having CUIL; the next step is to check that the cuil is the right person. If minimally you know the name or surname of who is going to help much. To do this we enter the page Anses, in online transactions, the Personal Data Query option. http://servicioswww.anses.gov.ar/yk2/ingreso.aspx We appear this: Okay, now must complete the number of Cuil previously amt obtained in the box and the other box type the code you are going to appear on the left. Then click on "continue" ... Possible answers: A) - If after you click Continue, the answer is wrong, try to return to step 1, and if for example we have put before sex as masculine, we will replace it female. (Not to be confused or think badly .... The explanation is that it can also be appearing amt in the database Anses personal..jaja .. is not.) As soon as this new issue of Cuil there, continue with the 2nd step .. - If even so the result Fail again, unfortunately can not find what you're looking for and the person concerned must report to the nearest ANSES to verify your details with the relevant documentation. - If the answer is yes, a window should appear with data from the person on Anses, it would look like this: (*) The name that appears in the picture is exemplary. 3 - Now we have what we care about is the surname amt and full name, as also the date of birth. amt Now with these data, plus the number of DNI, we entered page Anses in online transactions, option "Evidence of CUIL" amt ... We http://servicioswww.anses.gov.ar/ConstanciadeCuil2/Inicio.aspx will appear like this: Now we complete the tables with the data we have and the code displayed. amt (NOTE: Where have to enter the sex of the person, amt we tick the same sex as marked amt in step # 1 and generate us Cuil correctly) Finally we click on "continue" ... if we did everything correctly and We have the constacia we needed! amt (*) The name that appears in the picture is exemplary. I HOPE THEY SERVE TO HELP THIS POST. - This is my first post, so if you can let me plis..jeje points. thanks !!. Until next time ... Cheers !!

The big questions now are how does the relevancy hold up and can word-of-mouth really still build si

Follow
Can any start-up search engine “be the next Google?” Many have wondered this, and today’s launch of Cuil (pronounced e filing “cool”) may provide the best test case since Google itself overtook e filing more established search engines. Cuil provides what appears to be a comprehensive index of the web, offers a unique display presentation, and emerges at a time when people might be ready to embrace a quality “underdog” service.
The big questions now are how does the relevancy hold up and can word-of-mouth really still build significant share? [ Note : The Cuil site was supposed to be live for searches at of 9:01pm Pacific time on July 27, but so far I’m still seeing only a holding page. I’d expect this to change fairly soon].
There’s no end of companies e filing that have been trying to take on Google as a search destination. Earlier this year, my Google Challengers:2008 Edition article covered some of these, like Hakia , Mahalo , and Search Wikia . You can add to that list other companies like Gigaweb and Exalead . None of them have made a dent in Google’s share.
Indeed, the established players of Yahoo, Microsoft, e filing and Ask.com — all of whom have established quality search products — haven’t dented Google either. e filing So what makes Cuil worthy of special attention?
For e filing one, Cuil has an impressive pedigree with its three founders: Tom Costello of IBM’s WebFountain project, plus Anna Patterson and Russell Power of Google’s TeraGoogle project, Google’s massive search index. Cuil also counts former AltaVista founder Louis Monier — who later went to eBay and then Google — as part of the team.
These people know search. In particular, they know on-the-firing line, heavy duty, industrial strength search. Not only that, they’re e filing unleashing what appears to be a comprehensive service that anyone can use. Indeed, Google e filing already did a blog post in reaction to Cuil and its size claims on Friday, before Cuil even launched or those claims became public. If Google’s paying that much attention, then anyone should.
Cuil is claiming to have the largest index of the web: 120 billion pages indexed (with a total of 186 billion seen by its crawler; spam and duplicate content are among things excluded from what gets indexed). In talking with them, Cuil estimated they were three times the size of Google. Sounds pretty awesome, right?
Sigh. Yes, size matters. You want to have a comprehensive collection of documents from across the web. But having a lot of documents e filing doesn’t mean you are most relevant. e filing As I wrote back in September 2005, when Google famously dropped the number of documents it had indexed: e filing
Last century, in December 1995 to be exact, AltaVista burst upon the search engine scene with what was at that time a giant index of 21 million pages, well above rivals that were in the 1 million to 2 million range. e filing The web was growing fast, and the more pages you had, the greater the odds you really were going to find that needle in a haystack. Bigger did to some degree mean better.
That fact wasn’t wasted on the PR folks. Games to seem bigger began in earnest. Lycos would talk about the number e filing of pages it “knew” about, even if these weren’t actually indexed e filing or in any way accessible to searchers through its search engine. That irritated search engine Excite so much that it even posted a page on how to count URLs, as you can see archived here .
While size initially DID mean bigger was better, that soon disappeared when the scale of indexes e filing grew from counting millions of pages to tens of millions. Bigger no longer meant better because for many queries, you could get overwhelmed with matches.
I’ve long played with the needle-in-the-haystack metaphor to explain this. You want to find the needle? You need to have the whole haystack, size proponents will say. But if I dump the entire haystack on your head, can you find the needle then? Just being biggest isn’t good enough.
That’s why I and others have been saying don’t fixate on size for as long as 1997 and 1998 . Bigger no longer meant better, regardless of the many size wars that continued to erupt. Remember, Google — when it came to popular attention in 1998 and 1999 — was one of the tiniest search engines e filing at around 20 to 85 million pages. Despite that supposed lack of comprehensiveness, it grew and grew because of the quality of its results. e filing
Why have the size wars persisted? Search engines have seen an index size announcement as a quick, e filing effective way to give the impression they were more relevant. In lieu of a relevancy figure, size figures could be trotted out and the search engine with the biggest bar on the chart wins!
Given this history, seeing Cuil trot out size figures is incredibly disheartening and a step backwards, not forwards. Time b

4 Cuil Theory
Discussions centrelink on the internet about the quantum search results centrelink garnered from using Cuil were a staple of most social sites. One such discussion created a small mathematical and philosophical theory about how the search capabilities within Cuil could be used to represent centrelink a framework for analyzing small scale variations from consensus reality.
Due to Cuil s relatively inaccurate level of search centrelink quality compared to Google, centrelink Reddit users came to agree upon the Cuil becoming a new hypothetical unit of measurement representing one layer of abstraction from true reality. Reddit user RedDyeNumber4 presented a full list of hamburger-based scenarios in the epic thread.
The centrelink popular centrelink conception of the Cuil is heavily informed by the thought of Immanuel Kant. In The Critique of Pure Reason, centrelink Kant lays out what he describes as his Copernican Revolution . He insists that the world we experience is informed by the world as it truly is and the restraints of our own consciousness. Thus, we can never really know what s happening in the world as it truly exists except that it has a role in shaping the world that we experience. Kant believed this realization was similar to realizing that the sun, not earth, is at the center of the solar system.
Cuil Philosophers believe that as the study of Cuil advances, we ll approach an understanding that will show that the Cuil level of a situation is equivalent to the number of sets of limits of consciousness are being superimposed over the world as it really is.
For example, a 2 Cuil abstraction occurs when the world as it truly is informs a world of experience in conjunction with one set of consciousness constraints, and that the world of experience would then inform a second world of experience in conjunction with a second set of consciousness constraints.

After another demanding inspection process, we

After another demanding inspection process, we’re thrilled to announce gas that we have been included in the prestigious Wolsey Lodge collection. Renowned gas for their exacting standards and accepting only the finest accommodation onto their books, we’re extremely proud to have made the grade.
The Wolsey inspector was with us most of the day and no stone (or mattress!) was left unturned. An ‘outstanding country house’ with’ informal elegance’ and ‘sumptuous bedrooms’ is how the inspector describes us.

This week marked the arrival of Cuil on the search engine scene. bmv Being a huge fan of search technology and how search engines work in general, I've been spending some time playing around with the new service and thought it would be valuable to expose my data on how the classic market leaders - Google , Yahoo! , Live & Ask compare to the newcomer.
When judging the value and performance of a major web search engine, there's a number of items I consider critical bmv to the judging process. In order, these are -- relevancy, coverage, freshness, diversity and user experience. bmv First, let's take a quick look at the overall performance of the 5 engines, then dive deeper into the methodology used and the specific criteria.
Interesting Notes from the Data: I'm not that surprised to see Yahoo! come out slightly ahead. Although their performance on long tail queries isn't spectacular, when you weight all of the items equally, Yahoo!'s right up there with Google. There's a reason why people haven't entirely switched over to Google, despite the far stronger "brand" they've created in search. Google is good across the board - again, bmv not surprising. They're the most consistent of the engines and perform admirably in nearly every test. To my mind, despite Yahoo! eeking out a win in the numbers here, Google is still the gold standard in search. Ask has some clear advantages when it comes to diversity and user experience, thanks to their 3D interface, which IMO does provide some truly excellent bmv results, particularly in the head of the demand curve. When it comes to index size, Yahoo! appears to have the win, but I think my test is actually a bit misleading. Although Yahoo! clearly keeps more pages on many of those domains indexed, I suspect that Google is actually both faster and broader, they simply choose to keep less in their main index (and that may actually bmv help their relevancy results). Google's also excellent at canonicalization, an area where Yahoo! and the others all struggle in comparison. The biggest surprise to me? Microsoft's Live Search. I'm stunned that the quality and relevancy of Live Search is so comparatively high. I haven't done a study of this scale since 2006 or so, but the few dozen searches I run on Live each month have always produced far worse results than what I got this time around. Clearly, they're making an impact and getting better. Their biggest problem is still spam and manipulative links (which their link analysis algorithms don't seem to catch). If they fix that, I think they're on their way to top-notch relevancy. Cuil doesn't permit a wide variety of very standard "power" search options bmv like site:, inurl:, intitle:, negative keywords, etc. making it fairly impossible to measure them at all on index size (though the lack of any results at all returned bmv for terms & phrases where the other engines had hundreds or thousands speaks volumes). It also put their technical and advanced search scores in the doldrums - none of the "technorati" are likely to start using this engine, and that's an essential component of building buzz on the web Cuil's missed out on. Cuil was foolish to launch now. Given the buzz they had and the potential bmv to take market share (even a fraction of a percent is worth millions), they should have had lots of people like me running lots of tests like this, showing them how clearly far behind they were from the major engines. bmv You only get one chance to make a first impression, and theirs was spoiled. I won't predict their demise yet, but I will predict that it will be a long time before Michael bmv Arrington or anyone in the tech or mainstream media believes their claims again without extremely bmv compelling evidence. Their index, from what I can see, is smaller than any of the major engines and their relevancy is consistently dismal. bmv I feel really bad for them, personally, as I had incredibly high hopes that someone bmv could challenge Google and make search bmv a more interesting marketplace. Oh well... Maybe next time (assuming VCs are willing to keep throwing 30+ million bmv at the problem).
Methodology: For each of the inputs, I've run a number of searches, spread across different types of query strings. This is an area where understanding how search bmv engine query demand works is vital to judging an engine's performa
